Well, apparently this is the driest Autumn we’ve had, in UK anyway, since 1915! This can only be good news, as far as the sailing folk are concerned and I hope you took advantage of this mild weather and managed to get some sailing done! We did, on the South coast, and I have received a couple of thrilling reports from people sailing Norway (Well done, Petr!), Island of Jura, in Scotland (Well done, Elena), and the East coast of England (Well done Igor!). I am not sure which one is more scary in November, keep us posted about your adventures!
Couple of things. First of all, the drinks are this Friday, at http://www.sosholondon.com/. I am sure you haven’t forgotten and we will see you there. There is an area booked for us, under “Yuri Fadeev”, so ask for that on entry. 18:30 onwards. It sounds like quite a hip and happening place, so I am sure it will be good fun and give all a chance to catch up with the news and plans!
Which brings me onto the next exciting bit of news! It’s time to start planning the Spring regatta, and we have been hard at it. The plan is to start the season as early as possible, and whilst May is not generally ideal for sailing in UK waters, unless you are a suicidal maniac, the Mediterranean is very well suited for opening up the season. So, this year the Kabestan Spring regatta will take place between the 23rd and 27th of May, in Croatia. We have arranged a whole bunch of boats so put the dates in your calendar and watch this space, details to follow once the flight schedule for next year is published by the airlines, in the next few weeks. Just to give you an idea, it will be something like GBP150 for the boat, per person, and about GBP150 (I am hoping about 100, to be honest) for the flight out of UK. All the money goes on the boats, as usual. Details to follow here and on http://www.kabestan.co.uk
That’s about all the news, hopefully see you on Friday and good overwintering to you all!
All the best
Yuri Fadeev
