About the flotilla
Winter flotilla/offshore race will take place in February 2010, around the Canary islands. The dates are: 13th to 20th of February, 2010. Average air temperatures are around 21 degrees, with around 18 degrees for water. Pretty much like an English summer!
- Number of boats: 3.
- Skippers: Vladimir Phillips, Iskander Rakhimov, Yuri Fadeev
- Где: Tenerife, Canary Islands.
- VHF channel: 77
- When: 13th to 20th of February (14:00 yacht check in, 10:00 yacht checkout)
- Yachts: Cyclades 43. 4 twin cabins.
- Price: GBP305 (if there are 8 people per boat). Payment deadline: 15th of december
- Airplane tickets: Not included. Please see ‘How to get to Canary Islands’ section below.
- Additional costs: Food on board. Should be around 60 euros per person, plus food ashore and marina fees.
- Accomodation: On board the yacht.
- Visa: UK citizens do not require a visa. Shengen visa for most other nations
- Personal insurance: Please make sure that you purchase your own sailing insurance. It is mandatory for taking part.

Plan of action

Circular race, around the 4 islands of the Canary archipelago.
- Start - Marina Atlantica Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
- 1st leg – Santa Cruz de Tenerife – Santa Cruz de la Palma – 95nm
- 2nd leg – Santa Cruz de la Palma – El Hierro - La Gomera - Santa Cruz de Tenerife – 205nm.
- Finish - Marina Atlantica Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

Minimal qualifications and experience
- Prior sailing experience is mandatory for at least 50% of the crew.
- RYA Day Skipper with a minimum of 800nm logged, 10 night hours and an offshore passage of at least 60 miles.
- First mate – RYA Day Skipper certificate or similar, 5 night hours and an offshore passage of 60 miles
- Crew - two or more crew members must have at least 100nm logged and have upwards of 2 night hours logged
- First Aid - two per boat
- VHF - one per boat, preferably 2
- Sea survival preferred
